As coaches, we have to be empaths too. This can be quite overwhelming and impact our well-being. For me what has worked is taking on a limited number of clients per month, it helps me stay focused on those individuals and give them the support, care and attention they need, but it helps me take time out to be with myself and find my balance. Secondly, I have created safe boundaries for both of us, so that we don't overstep. And finally, my weekends are mine to spend as I wish, No clients, no calls, no texts. I make that very clear. I keep reminding myself, you cannot pour from an empty cup.

When you’re overwhelmed with coaching clients, it’s essential to prioritize self-care by setting clear boundaries and designing a schedule that protects your well-being. Begin by defining work hours that align with your energy peaks, scheduling focused client sessions while blocking time for personal breaks, exercise, or other restorative practices. By viewing self-care as a strategic asset, you create space to recharge, which ultimately enhances your ability to support clients effectively. Establish “no-contact” windows and honor these as you would client meetings, this time is crucial for maintaining mental clarity and focus.
