1. ELI5 - explain like I’m 5. If you can’t get it down to that level, spend the most time here practicing it with trusted non tech people. Or pretend like you’re explaining it to your parents. You will lose everyone at the beginning if there’s too much jargon. 2. Make it pretty. I’m serious. No one expects a beautiful, visual tech strategy that isn’t a novella of jargon. Many people are visual learners. 3. High level roadmap of a to/ from: the benefits, CONTEXT, risks and mitigation, and ultimately the big why. Keep it concise but not too lofty. 4. WIIFM: what’s in it for me. We are humans and want to know the plan will make our lives better. Be prepared with examples that show you did specific scrutiny and due diligence with each team.

Given the speed of technological change, non-tech stakeholders might feel overwhelmed or skeptical. To ease this, break down complex concepts into straightforward benefits. Instead of diving into specifics about systems or tools, explain how it will help the organization stay competitive, reduce risks, or create more agile processes over time.
-
The best approach is to avoid technical language, concentrate on stakeholders' real needs, and provide them with what they really need.
-
Use Clear and Simple Language: Avoid Jargon: Avoid using technical terms that may confuse non-tech stakeholders. Explain Concepts: Break down complex concepts into simpler terms that are easy to understand. Use Analogies: Use real-world analogies to illustrate how IT can benefit their work. 2. Focus on Business Outcomes: Connect IT to Business Goals: Clearly articulate how IT initiatives align with the overall business objectives.
