Smart technology integration is the way to go forward. You are likely to be left behind if this is not implemented. There are a huge number of benefits which will arise as a result of this integration. These benefits have to be explained to the contractors. Also you have to actively listen to and understand the views of the contractors. Once the above two things are done, they have to be told the areas which are non negotiable. On the other points, some adjustments can be made by both sides to come to a common meeting ground. Thus while their concerns are resolved amicably, you can be benefitted by this technology integration.

In navigating smart tech tensions with contractors, I prioritize open communication and aligning technology goals with mutual benefits. By establishing clear, shared objectives early on, we address contractor concerns over transparency, data ownership, and system integration. I advocate for pilot projects to demonstrate value without disrupting core operations, which often eases initial resistance. Additionally, I encourage ongoing feedback loops and collaborative problem-solving, so any tech-related issues can be swiftly addressed.

I always listen to contractors concerns about why they may not want to embrace new technologies. Then explain to them the benefits. It may not be a fit for every customer, but if you’re not willing to change and learn you will eventually be left behind. It is inevitable that technology will and is going to affect our industry. We must be willing to grow with it.
