In next q i ask them what their networking goals are and most people have no answer. In a research, 97,4% of the people said that networking had played a major role in their success. I used to carry hearts around in a basket and offer them to people I connected with. The people who said no thanks, quite often would come back to me, and apologize. They were a conversation starter. What are they looking for help on, the value will come. But often if we focus solely on "How can I add value" you end up forcing a contribution that might actually not be helpful. So, put your mind towards caring for the people you meet and the value will follow.

I personally like to feel I’m adding value to people I meet. One great and natural way of doing this for me is introducing others to each other. Many people go to events and want to meet people but don’t have the confidence or get stuck in a comfort zone and stick with one person only. Its a waste in my eyes. Always bring people into conversations and intro, name, background and why you think they should meet, maybe something in common. Then watch the magic unfold.
