Networks are becoming more complex and diverse, with multiple devices, platforms, protocols, applications, and services. You have to deal with different vendors, technologies, architectures, and configurations, and ensure that they all work together seamlessly and efficiently. You also have to keep up with the latest trends and innovations, such as cloud computing, virtualization, IoT, and AI, and adapt your network accordingly. Managing network complexity requires a lot of skills, knowledge, and tools, and can be overwhelming and time-consuming.

You have to implement and monitor security measures, such as firewalls, encryption, authentication, backup, and recovery, and respond to any incidents or alerts. You also have to educate and train your users and staff on best practices and policies, and prevent human errors or negligence. Maintaining network security requires a lot of vigilance, diligence, and resources, and can be stressful and challenging.

One of the biggest challenges is balancing between two principles of networking which are security and connectivity. A tight security may compromise productivity and connectivity while a loose security principle may lead to vulnerabilities. It is one of the dilemnas engineers and administrators face daily; the extent restrictions should be implemented. The other challenge is knowing or identifying attacks earliest and be aware you have been compromised at early stages of the attack. Although there are automation tools to analyse behaviours in the network some covet attack attempts may go unnoticed.

Hoje estimo que um bom profissional domina no mínimo ou usa no sei dia dia de 50 a 150 ferramentas, acredito que a chave para a atualiza??o está na busca constante de novas ferramentas, novas solu??es e práticas mais avan?adas e eficazes. Hoje existem inúmeras tecnologias que auxiliam a opera??o e até mesmo que automatizam processos. Os desafios s?o enormes mas hoje é mais fácil do que antes, pós antes era tudo manual e hoje muita coisa é automatizada ou pode ser automatizada.

The biggest challenge I face every day is imposter syndrome and never feeling good enough for the job. Although I feel confident in many skills, I always stress over the what-ifs and the potential to be called upon for something I have no clue how to do. The only way to combat that is to stay up to date on technologies and never stop learning!
