To manage a team with varying work styles while ensuring productivity, start by understanding each team member's preferred approach and strengths. Conduct one-on-one discussions to learn about their work habits, motivations, and any challenges they face. Set clear expectations and define roles, ensuring everyone knows their responsibilities. Encourage collaboration by facilitating open communication and regular check-ins, fostering a culture of feedback and support. Promote team-building activities that help build rapport and understanding among members. Finally, monitor productivity and be ready to make adjustments as needed, ensuring that individual work styles contribute positively to overall team performance.

Here's how I ensure productivity: Trust the Team: I trust that each member’s unique style contributes to success. Avoid Micromanagement: Allow team members the freedom to complete tasks in their own way, which boosts creativity and ownership. Be Fair: Staying neutral ensures everyone feels equally valued and respected. Support, Don’t Direct: My role is to help resolve issues and make their work smoother, not to dictate how tasks should be done. Encourage Openness: Create a space where everyone can share ideas and opinions, helping the team work better together. Respect Differences: There’s no single right way to do things. I value and integrate diverse methods to achieve the best results.

It’s important to understand each individual’s strength & weakness while managing a bigger team. Tasks assigned should be as per the strengths & training provided should be as per the weaknesses. As a leader one has to ensure that there is a clear road map of development of his subordinates & team trusts the decision making of leader. Once that culture is built it, any team can be managed efficiently.

Managing a team with varying work styles can be tricky, but it’s also an opportunity to tap into diverse strengths. I believe the key is balance and flexibility. The first step is to understand each team member’s preferred way of working—some might thrive in collaborative environments, while others are more productive on their own. From there, setting clear expectations around goals and timelines keeps everyone aligned, even if their approaches differ. Ultimately, giving people the freedom to work in their own style, while holding them accountable for results, fosters both productivity and trust. It’s about finding what works best for each person while driving toward the team’s overall goals.
