You're managing a team project. How do you ensure each employee has relevant SMART goals?

When managing a team project or helping with career growth, it is important to set SMART goals for each employee. As a career advisor for juniors in my current organization, I ensure their goals are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. I usually ask my advisees to draft clear and precise goals that are easy to measure, so we can track progress and success. The goals must be realistic and achievable with the available resources and time. Each goal should align with the advisee's role and contribute to their growth and the engagement's success. Finally, we set deadlines like financial year end or by next quarter. This way the goals are SMART making it easier for me to monitor progress and hold the advisee accountable.

The main issue is to understand the project phases and also the required skills to ensure achieving and target date with the proper quality. The second point is the assessment for the team members first from technical fitness and competency including the personal best supervision style telling , selling , participate and delegation style with all the above with deep understanding of the project phases it will be easy to issue a tracker sheet for each task in a SMART list and assign an owner with a target date while understand the team member capabilities we will assign each one to the suitable task
