Prioritize essential services, optimize workflow efficiency, utilize low-cost technology, focus on preventive care, and build strong partnerships with community resources.

In reality, prioritizing quality care on a budget means making tough decisions daily. It's about maximizing resources, not just allocating them efficiently. This includes everything from prioritizing most critical needs, streamlining administrative tasks to negotiating with suppliers to get the best deals. While I don’t believe in right hire and wrong hire, I emphasize that staffing is of utmost importance. Efficient workforce with the right attitude helps a great deal. When it comes to Suppliers and service providers try to arrive at collaboration and consignment agreements (pay as you sell). But it requires discipline and strong leadership to make it happen. Above all, write in bold - no compromise on “Ethics and Quality in your SOP”.

I was a healthcare finance person but now I am mostly a patient. I gained more insight from being a patient. The most important priority for a practice is to have steady patient flow. We used to use the word "throughput". You need to ensure no gaps in the schedule. Ensure that employees are trained and providing competent and compassionate services to patients. Ensure that they look and act professional. Make them partners in your efforts to have an efficient practice. As a patient I can say... if you treat me with respect, concern and compassion, I will support your initiatives 100%, because I want your practice to be healthy.

In my value based care world we can decrease expenses, which will increase revenue by doing the following. * Decrease hospital and ED admissions by improving access. * Close quality care gaps that will increase revenue. *Decrease utilization management that will increase revenue. Even with budget constraints at risk organizations can increase revenue which will lead to decreased constraints.
