Soil is the largest terrestrial carbon reservoir, storing twice as much carbon as the atmosphere & vegetation combined: 2500Pg C. ?? 30%: of land on the planet that is severely degraded. ?? 60%: of all arable land on the planet is in Africa. ?? 40%: of Africa’s agricultural lands are degraded from overuse of synthetic fertilizers & conventional agricultural practices. ?? 60%: increase in food production required by 2050. ?? 3 X: the increase by which climate impacts will be felt in Africa. ?? 4%: Africa’s contribution to global CO2 emissions. ?? We all have an an existential interest in supporting those working on the front lines of climate. Facet Power plans on attending this incredible event in the future. #sankalpafrica2024 "The partners signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to support scaling of blended finance in Asia and Africa as a tool to advance financing for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Under the framework of the MoU, the partners will collaborate on programs and activities that: Facilitate the mobilization of concessional capital and ecosystem building, Build capacity and knowledge of key stakeholders including governments, philanthropic funders, corporates and other partners, Foster an enabling environment for blended finance." As we all know, trillions are needed to get this planet and humanity to a livable climate for (near) future generations. As I like to say, there is #notimetowaste and groups like these 2 exemplify the urgent action and mission aligned collaboration we need at this time. Blended finance and catalytic capital can not be underestimated and, in fact, MUST be a part of the complex systems solutions approach. Solidifying Funding Framework 2. Nurturing Collaborative Dynamics 3. Elevating Compliance Standards: "This partnership will play a crucial role in advancing our respective mandates and addressing the challenges posed by climate change," said Benedict Libanda, Chief Executive Officer at EIF. "By sharing expertise and resources, we can strengthen the resilience of our nation and promote sustainable development." As part of their commitments, the parties will collaborate on initiatives to secure funding for NASRIA's climate change-related insurance products. They will also share information, expertise, and policies related to regulatory compliance and governance for public enterprises.
