Role play with peers and leaders within your organization - compartmentalize the negotiation and drill into the specific sections: -Are you explaining a term and condition, or discussing the price itself? -What are you prepared to give in order to get? -How can you ensure you hold prospects accountable to their deliverables in exchange for your concessions?

The first thing is to learn from the experts and also from various available courses to develop yourself. Learn not only by doing but also by shadowing these experts. Learning has to be on-the-job. The more, the better. Additionally, train extensively and always be open to seeing a new perspective, especially at this moment.

If they don't feel safe, they won't trust you, leading to shallow, vague, and potentially misleading disclosures. This principle is often unknown, underused, or overlooked. We can tell by how often people use aggression, deception, threats, manipulation, and force to try to get what they want. Those would only be met with resistance. If you don’t have reliable information, you’re only negotiating with yourself.
