When things are changing, then comes uncertainty. And when uncertainty takes over, people fill in the blanks with their own assumptions. And often with the worst-case scenario. That’s why transparency is important in this case. Make it a point to communicate early and often. Even if you don’t have all the answers yet, lay down what you all know, what you're working on, and what you'll figure out together. Leave room for their feedback too. Change feels a lot less overwhelming when people feel heard. Ask what’s on their mind? What concerns them? When people know they're not just being "managed" through change, but actually led with transparency and care, they're more likely to embrace it than resist it.

Clear and honest communication is helpful when leading a team through change. I make sure everyone understands what’s happening, why it’s happening, and how it affects them. Keeping people in the loop avoids confusion and builds trust. I also encourage open conversations. In our team, we create space for questions, and encourage feedback, and concerns, so no one feels left in the dark. If I don’t have all the answers, I’m upfront about it and update the team as things develop. Change is easier to navigate when people feel informed and heard and it's important to keep communication open. That's how I lead my team when there's changes.
