Training and development is invaluable to assure successful outcomes for Case Managers. Case management is a subspecialty that requires continuous learning and reinforcement of key case management principles. It is important for hospitals to invest in workshops, seminars, and other learning opportunities to assure the team stays current with new regulations, community resources, and payer requirements. At our monthly staff meetings, we took the opportunity to review a complex case from the previous month to share what went well, what may not have gone so well, and solicit feedback on how to improve, if applicable. It really helps to have real-world examples when training staff.
