The hotels operation has to be process driven and not person driven , so the delegation of work is very vital and to select the right team member for delegating the authority and responsibility is the key for delegation , the person whom you are delegating the work/ authority should have decent required skill sets and ability to perform, and you have to keep a watch on his action / work and coach him/her from time to time .

From my experience, effective delegation is a delicate balance that requires assigning tasks to team members based on their interests and skills. When you delegate, you acknowledge and empower the individual, making them feel valued rather than burdened. Given the inherent stress in the hospitality industry, it’s crucial to avoid exacerbating it by misaligning tasks with employees' strengths.

In my opinion, I believe ‘Empowerment Effect’ is the most important aspect. Empowering team members through delegation not only enhances productivity and efficiency but also fosters a sense of ownership and engagement within the team. When employees feel empowered, they’re more motivated to deliver their best work, which is essential for success in the hospitality industry.

Ich konnte in meiner Abteilung durch Empowrtment mein Team motivieren ihr Bestes zu geben und das vom Herzen. Einzelne Teammitglieder aus- und weiterbilden um entweder eine Bef?rderung innerhalb oder au?erhalb der Abteilung zu bekommen. Das h?lt das Team aktiv und es viel mehr m?glich zu erreichen. The difference between being just a hotel worker and a learned and trained hotel worker is the training you received. This doesn't just apply to the guests alone, it's inbuilt in you that you display this act even to family members and friends. You become an outstanding figure that will be worth emulating.

A standard hotel requires a quality and consistent service for the guests to be reckoned with. If 20 staff display the same method while serving returning guests, they will be happy to always come back.

While delegation at a macro level is simply a sharing of responsibilities, at a micro level for it to succeed it must be thought through. Skill, goal, availability etc must be considered whole delegating. It is also a great development exercise if managed well.

Absolutely agree with @Nikhil Kapur. Deletion & getting out of micro management is one of the best ways to free up your time for doing more macro tasks as a leader. It is very important to know your team well to be able to delegate effectively. Once you are able to assign or delegate the right task to the right team member, your personal productivity can improve significantly.
