First of all you have to build strong bond with them. Then i think some steps will be helpful like: Social gathering. One to one meeting. Offering support either personal or business.
-
Leading a diverse team needs an understanding of each team member's area of strengths and weakness. To gain trust of the team, avoid biased approach. To earn respect, always demonstrate compassion. Always provide challenging assignments to make them feel a sense of achievement. Appreciate the team publically ( there is nothing like a timely appreciation that will help improve team morale). Understand that the team members have a social life apart from work. Walk your talks. Leading a team doesn't mean that you have to always showcase your soft side of character, be demanding and fair !! Last not the least, have an international outlook on things and avoid regional perspectives if its not affecting your business, this promotes diversity.

One thing I found to be helpful is the regular communication. Both ways. I would advise to do that with 1/1 meetings and skip level meetings. Empower people to open and share with you their pain points. Try solving what you see will have a big influence on their daily work. Do that together, give regular feedback on your progress, etc.. If I can summarize in a few words - be part of the team, work as part of the team. Don't play 'bossy'.
-
Open communication, foster a culture where everyone feels comfortable of sharing their ideas. Be accessible and approachable make yourself available regardless of their position or background , so they know you are there to listen to them.
-
As a leader, connecting with individual team members in a diverse group means actively listening to their unique perspectives, showing genuine interest in their strengths and aspirations, and creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute.
