Consulting assignments are sought for a particular purpose with specific goals. Consultants with a fair degree of knowledge and skills are deployed towards fulfilling the goals. With this knowledge powerfully fixed in each one of members within the team, automatically each one will feel so much responsible and authoritative (with professionalism) to ask/clarify/provide solutions towards the goals. There will be hurdles to share problems from the stakeholders, there will be issue to accept a solution etc. However, clarifying the solution with facts and data and assuring that the solution is the best fit for the organization is a must and need to be explained with lots of passion, clarity and patience.

To empower your consulting team, delegate responsibilities with trust and clarity. Assign tasks that align with each member's strengths, and trust them to execute without micromanaging. Provide clear objectives and the necessary resources, then step back to allow autonomy. Regularly check in to offer support, not control. e open, explain where you come from - don't "be the expert in everything" otherwise your team will feel that everything has to get your approval and they are not competent. Support and build your team member's career aspirations - people move and whilst you don't want to lose your best people - if you can't stretch them then its better to have them leave well. There is so much nuance in this space - but I guess TL;DR would be "be open and honest"
