Make notes. Create systems. Be genuinely interested in helping (not only moneywise) Optimise along the way. Stop thinking you have to figure everything out in the beginning, some lessons are learned in the process.

Mastering the balancing act of tracking multiple clients' fitness journeys requires organization and effective communication. Start by utilizing a client management software or app to keep all your clients’ data in one place. This allows you to easily track individual goals, progress, and workout history. For example, using a platform like Trainerize or My PT Hub can streamline your process. In addition, create customized progress reports for each client, highlighting their achievements and areas for improvement. Schedule regular check-ins, either weekly or bi-weekly, to discuss progress and adjust goals as needed.

Creating an empowering environment where my students can clearly see and celebrate their achievements is a principle that is dear to me in all my professional endeavors. To achieve this, I implement a structured approach that begins with consistent communication through bi-weekly check-ins to evaluate progress and proactively address any challenges. Recognizing that each student has unique goals, I start by assessing their initial status and establishing tailored, specific, and measurable milestones. It is crucial to review these benchmarks together, fostering accountability and keeping students actively engaged in their progress, ultimately contributing to their success.

First of all, it depends what’s meant by progress. Attending regularly is progress, as is improving weights or reps, or reducing body fat or range of movement. Consider this when creating a holistic approach to checking progress. Personally, I’m old school and simply have a health/fitness assessment tracker that goes into my client’s portfolio. We test at agreed dates and they can see the numbers changing. I then print and write down the programme for each workout and we can highlight improvements in individual exercises over time. I’d then simply praise them for consistency and effort on session attendance, or they may use their own apps, spreadsheets, or training journals, whatever works for them. I always find the key is to ask.
