It can be difficult at first; you'll come across endless lines of code, and you won't understand anything. Give yourself time to let the information sink in—everything is learned with time. Take note of everything you don't understand or consider relevant, and always ask questions without fear. The more questions you ask, the more committed you'll appear to the task. Even if you have to ask all the time, the one who asks the most is the one who learns the most. Always show initiative and proactivity, so that people see you as a committed and responsible person. Some will value you for this, and others may not, but never stop trying to give your best, even if these are your first steps in the IT world. No one was born knowing everything.

Try to follow the work of other IT contributors in your area, absorb as much knowledge as possible. Look for specific tasks that nobody else wants to tackle and complete them, asking for help from the experts when needed.
