Make sure you, and anyone involved in hiring on the client side are aligned in terms of role description, score cards etc. It can be easy to get caught up in the rush/panic, and sometimes skip the basics leading to delays and confusion throughout. It's also important to be honest about capacity. If a client would like to give you an urgent role you don't have the space for, let me know that as much as you'd like to work the position, you recommend passing it to another agency this time, but you'd love their next role. This honesty will show you'll always put their needs above your own

We should have: 1. Communicate Clearly: Set realistic timelines and explain any challenges upfront. 2. Prioritize: Focus on filling the most critical roles first. 3. Provide Updates: Regularly inform the client about progress. 4. Maximize Resources: Use networks and referrals to speed up sourcing. 5. Suggest Alternatives: Offer temporary staffing solutions if needed. 6. Reassure Quality: Ensure that urgency doesn’t compromise hiring quality.

I always believe that transparency and clear communication between the client and myself as a recruiter is key. Don’t overpromise your client - set realistic expectations, and buy some time for ourselves in case the search goes south. When handling multiple positions from the same client, I always ask: Which is the most critical role to fill right now? Stay focused. I don’t compromise on the screening process, but we make it more efficient.
-
I recommend focusing on role prioritization: Help your clients concentrate on the most essential positions first, aligned with their current business needs. This approach ensures the urgent roles receive the attention they require, while the less critical ones can be handled systematically. It keeps the process efficient and ensures you're managing the key hires without added stress.
