In food service industry quality of raw material is very critical for seamless operations. It's the role of category manager to have regular dialogue with the supplier partners to ensure raw material supplied meets acceptable standards while holding the vendor accountable for their performance He also needs to propose solutions to the vendor when quality is not improving continuously. Such solutions can include: Training of sorting staff at supplier through Organization's quality team, Audit of facility and process to identify the gaps, Identifying the key quality issues and the products associated, Deep RCA and CAPA for arresting the issues. Solutions can differ industry to industry but it's important that both needs to work together.

On every tender I will always make sure that the Scope of Works are clear and detail. Beforehand I will always set up a aanwijzing meeting to make sure all vendors understand every detail of the work. All these processes are documented and signed to be used as work standard. And when quality disputes occur I will have strong proof/ evidence about the standard.
