Panic results to nothing & when one is cornered, calmness is but mandatory for survival. The cool head helps one to identify where is the issue & thereafter directing the focus to achieve the deadline.More than meditation a quick appraisal in written form of what has been done & what more needs to be done is must.Once pinpointed the last minute efforts with full focus often yields good result, many a times the train on the platform is boarded just in the nick of time. Worst if the deadline is missed,it is assured that sooner or later the project in hand will be successfully completed. The team addressal timely does miracles in case their are empathetic members & suddenly one can see turbo engine round the clock make the impossible- possible.

A mindfulness exercise that often helps both me and my clients is the Five Senses technique. Begin by focusing on what you can hear, smell, touch, taste, and see for a few moments. This simple practice can quickly foster a sense of calm and help center your attention. If you don’t notice an immediate effect, try extending the exercise for a longer period, allowing yourself to engage more deeply with your surroundings.

Acknowledge the Situation: Accept that the project is delayed without judgment. Recognize that feeling stressed is a natural reaction, but dwelling on it won’t move the project forward. Mindfulness helps you observe your emotions without getting overwhelmed by them. Set Small, Achievable Goals: Break down the delayed project into smaller tasks. Focus on completing each one, being fully present as you work. This reduces the feeling of overwhelm and gives you a sense of accomplishment, even as the larger project is behind schedule.
