In such situations, I fall back on either of two things, depending on the circumstances: 1) I focus on understanding the motivations of each party. By indetifying key concerns, I can then align interests and suggest modifications that address those needs. While my approach here is collaborative, I still ensure that my client's position is secured; 2) I analyse the points where my client holds leverage and I use these strengths to negotiate favourable terms.

Definitely every contract/agreement need strategic planning during negotiation, we need to understand and think proactively what opposite party might come with the revised changes, if the changes are on own template then we must prepare the tool kit which will help us and navigate on those important clauses and should be ready with alternate options and scenarios like for example if opposite party has modified the Limitation of Liabilty then what are the fall back provisions, who from internal team stakeholders are going to approve the clause...therefore to sum up it is important to be ready with the strategy, outcome and next step...

In my opinion, the interpersonal skills in general, where communication skill is part of, are important for successful contract negotiation. Inspite of the fact that power dynamics defnitely influence the project but what is important is strategic plan and project goals.The most important thing in project is the main achievable purpose of the it and main concern in the middle of project is consumed resources (Time, Money, man , machinery, Materials).Anyway the MOC(management of changes) is necessary and adaption with new circumstances is inevitable.
