Take a hike! Seriously, a lot of time people need to get up and walk away from the problem or challenge for a bit. While some may find they can grind it out and define the challenge and solution, a lot of time it’s best to step away and do something else. I find walking and hiking clears the mind and allows me to take a more strategic approach to a problem. If walking or hiking is not possible, find another distraction to shift your mind out of neutral.

To tackle a creative problem: 1. Understand why it's happening. 2. Assess its size and impact. 3. Set clear goals for solving it. 4. Recognize any limitations. 5. Stay focused on the main issue. 6. Communicate the solution steps clearly. 7. Avoid distractions and stay on track to solve?it?efficiently.

If you don't understand the problem well, you won't be able to solve it well. Start by writing a definition of the problem. Writing it down, and getting it out of your head, is often the step that helps your step past your creative block. Or, if you prefer, explain the problem to someone else. In explaining it you will get to the insight that unlocks the solution. If those two don't work, then take a break and then come back to what you've written, or to the conversation.

To be utterly blunt, burnout is a regular phase to all freelances or people indulged in work with any creative touch. Statistically, several factors assist in avoiding the mentioned state. However, once present, one should ask a helping hand to punch out ideas. As a personal preference, apps, podcasts, books, and music are home to all creativity. Also merely reading can open up new realms within one's mind. Never underestimate its power.

It's technique that involves explaining your solution to an inanimate object (often a rubber duck sat on your desk, hence the term). Obviously the rubber duck won't provide feedback to improve your solution, but explain it often helps you to spot errors or opportunities for improvement.

Organize brainstorming sessions or focus groups, tapping into collective wisdom to illuminate facets of the problem you might have missed. This feedback can challenge your assumptions, spotlight gaps, and unearth new opportunities, enriching your approach. What is work without challenges? Irrespective of what approach we adopt, creative challenges end up finding a way in our direction. An ideal way out here is to keep the room for discussion and experimentation as free-flowing as possible. I'd say begin by saying no to rigidness. Get flexible. Adopt a subjective approach. Be ready to fail 10 times before you get it right that one time. All I am trying to say here is get rid of the pressure and it'll be way easier for you to find a way out.

The key question to be solved must be SMART. As the saying goes a well.defined problem is half solved. Putting problems this way easily bring out key success criteria of the solution.

I would gather my team together for an imaginative future scenario planning session. We can collaborate for a future scenario when the issue has been solved. Then do a backcast - outlining all the strategic steps between then and now which led to the issue resolution. Simple reframing where we envision from a imagined future point of victory ignites visionary planning. This future state ideation can open minds to possibilities.

Define what the successful solution should/must include. Why this is important: Let's say your problem is that you want to create a more efficient way for streaming video customers to be able to browse and choose programming that matches with their preferences. You could spend a lot of time working on solving this problem only to learn that customers are unwilling to pay extra for this convenience. So, defining the preferred solution as being either able to be delivered either cost-free to the customer or including a viable source of subsidy to underwrite the cost would seem important before investing time and resources in devising the actual solution.
