You need to understand the architecture of the codebase to effectively incorporate responsive design. Some questions to ask why auditing the codebase: 1. How is the project files and folders structured? 2. Does the structure strongly or loosely influence the project architecture? 3. Are there automated tests in place and what scenarios do they influence? 4. What are the application's dependencies? For example, if you have Bootstrap 3, you can't use some cooler, more convenient styles from Bootstrap 5. 5. What dependencies will need to be upgraded for your responsive design integration to work seamlessly and what part of the application depends on them? Handle this stage like a troubleshooting session.

A complete thorough audit of the code base for legacy enterprise applications is difficult. Instead we can - 1. We'll classify the code base into modules based on functionalities and features. 2. Map your product features to functionalities. Usually a group of functionalities form a feature. But there can be individual functionalities valid throughout the application as well. 3. Prioritise features according to the business requirements and user feedback. 4. Pick up a feature based on priority and identify its dependencies. 5. Assemble your dependencies and proceed implementing the feature. 6. After implementing top n features (n depends on the number of total features), proceed with testing and user feedback. 7. Repeat step 3 - step 6
