Scheduling 'down time' is a must for me. Otherwise, I tend to take on too much without realizing that I'm starting to drain my own battery. Crowd sourcing efforts or delegating tasks are options which are often overlooked when you are stressed. Spending 30 minutes figuring out how you can utilizing your resources better can in the end save you many hours of work. Also, it is important to still do things outside of work with friends and family. All work and no play doesn't work in the long run.

I know when things are becoming too much when I hear David Byrne singing the line ‘I can feel my lifetime piling up’ in my head. That’s my signal to go and take a walk. Just a quick trip around the block seems to provide a huge amount of clarity, allowing me to face whatever issues are mounting with more clarity. It seems counterintuitive to step away from it all when life is piling up, but it really helps me.

1?? Create Non-Negotiable Routines: I build small, consistent habits into my day, such as morning mindfulness, hydration breaks, or a 10-minute stretch. These habits are sacred, no matter how busy I get. 2?? Shift the Perspective: Instead of viewing self-care as "extra time," I see it as the fuel that powers my productivity. A calm, clear mind helps me make better decisions and manage challenges effectively. 3?? Ask for Support: Delegating and leaning on my trusted team allows me to focus on what truly matters while ensuring I don’t burn out. Entrepreneurship is a team sport—it’s okay to share the load. 4?? Set Boundaries with Urgency: Not all urgent matters are truly critical. I pause, assess, and prioritize, my health and well-being.

I get up, stretch, drink a cup of coffee, and try to observe the sky. I imagine myself seeing the "stressful situation" from above the universe. I do this by practicing long breaths. Then I return to the room. And at night when I get home I practice ballroom dancing. It's fantastic.

Stress & urgency situations are very common and skipping them is not an option. For me when such situation arises, I mostly take a 5 step approach to maintain mind sanity: Step 1) Take a pause and stay calm Step 2) Acknowledge and accept the situation Step 3) Set down the priorities Step 4) Thinking about the solutions Step 5) Start working towards the solution During the process, I keep reminding myself "its just a situation and eventually there will be solution and things will fall in place".
