I like to keep in mind that sales is a process. It does not happen overnight. I try to keep my expectations realistic while preparing my next step without the added stress of holding on too tightly to the control I think I should have on the sales process. My sales funnel maybe moving g slowly but appreciate the smaller win as well as celebrate the big ones that follow after

Listen and demonstrate attention, knowledge and empathy in front of the potential client. Rely on a competent and expert community. Do not be afraid to fact-check and get back asap instead of improvising. This is a long-lasting and complex process with multitude of supporting activities, negotiations, considerations, administration, approvals. Results will be revealed over time, lessons must be learnt and inconsistencies rectified as goes for any other process and approach.

Including high pressure sales roles. Each of the 6 steps laid out by LI's AI can all be tied to one of Covey's 7 habits; as with any 'modern' business philosophies. One of the main questions I have is why would you work in an org that creates unhealthy pressure? Good processes, upfront and open contracts and understanding that every org operates from the top down are a few tidbits to managing these situations. Oh, and "have fun, if you are not having fun, you are not doing it right" (former COO quote:))

Believe in yourself, believe in your process. Know (not "think") that it will come back around. This will help you plow through your slump, but it will also help you close. Prospects can tell when you don't believe in your product or yourself.

Establish a goal, write it down, it needs to be achievable, set a timeline, create a plan, measure it constantly. Push yourself and make sure you are working and executing toward the objective. It’s never about activities but achieving your goals. Trying hard, working hard, creating tension will be your worst enemies. Yes, you need to feel pressure to perform at your best and reach your goals, it’s not a walk in the park. Your best performance will always happen when you push yourself to give your best. Once you reach them, strive for more. If you don’t, and they are realistic and achievable never lower the bar. Analyze the opportunities, modify your plan and go for it. A goal than can’t be measured is a wish.

One thing i found helpful is to set realistic goals for which you have an action plan prepared and strategic approach towards achieving the same. We should not boast of anything which we are not confident of and just for the sake of satisfaction of the seniors. Be clear and prepared for whatever you commit and get that achieved. A real realistic commitment is far better than a boasted one as it depicts your mindset and strategical decision making towards any goal.

Setting of realistic goals is directly proportional to the ability of sales people to meet those goals. The goals should be broken down into daily weekly, monthly, half year, and full year expected target splits and super target splits per head or per person. The goals should be smart that means they should be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time bound. To enhance possibilities of meeting set goals the goals should be simple, motivating and meaningful, attainable, reasonable, result based, and time sensitive. Tracking systems should be deployed to remind and update team members of their statuses in line with the goals that were set to be achieved.

Rejection is an enhancement to a future qualification lens. After losing, seek the reason why. Was this a deal that should have even been created? If not then perhaps that can be an area of continuous improvement for qualification. Or if blindsided by a late competitive entrant picked by the CEO, one can reflect on whether a MEDDPIC model step was missed (not locating true economic buyer). Or finally I would inspect whether "I would buy from me" under the circumstance. Normally I find something I could do better or maybe the deal was poorly qualified. What can harm a sales culture however is if the team feels they did everything they could to sell but the product comes up short. Then deeper interdepartmental convos are needed.

If you think you can you are right, if you think you can’t you are also right. You decide before it happens how will it happen. Visualize yourself achieving your goals many times over. I remember being younger and fantasizing about making the shot to win the game, still do with golf, even at work. I see things as they will be. It starts with a positive mindset, that will lead to an action, execute as intended and achieve the results. If you don’t reach them, keep trying until you do. As long as you keep trying you will have a chance and it all starts by being positive and staying positive. You will always have a better chance than those that stop trying, become complacent or simply permit negativity to guide their performance. Chin up!

When we are well-rested and nourished, we are better equipped to handle pressure and maintain our composure. Taking breaks and engaging in activities that bring joy and relaxation can also help individuals recharge and stay mentally strong.

Give yourself grace and continue to learn. You won’t win every deal, but you can always understand why you won or lost. Ask, in either circumstance if you feel you can learn and replicate, but especially in the losses. Where did we fall short? And then give yourself the grace to understand these things happen. And if this one deal is the cause of that much stress, it might be time to figure out a change. Or at a minimum, how to stretch that pressure across more than one deal. At any rate, give yourself the time and space to know it’s ok.

Take? Care? Of? Yourself? First? It is almost impossible to take care of others if you do not take care of yourself first. You can spend all of your time putting other people first, and realize years later you are not doing things that make you happy, you are doing things to make other people happy. You need to take care of yourself, whether that means taking a moment when you're busy or putting your needs and priorities first when a lot of people are asking things of you. If you are so drained from prioritizing everyone else so you're not taking care of yourself, you will burn out. It is not a sustainable way to live, and ultimately you will be able t help more people more effectively if you are happy and healthy. #Gangstamentor
