Feedback is very hard pill to swallow when it is development focused.But if it is used consistently for personal development it will unlock alot of potential as we have a blind spot where someone can easily identify and help us find the way in a very simple way. There ia always eureka moment through a genuine discussion and active listening to people Feedback ment to improve us.

An example of taking feedback constructively is- Imagine yourself in a situation where a friend/ colleague/ mentor is giving you a feedback. As a human, our immediate tendency is to guard ourselves and create defensive responses. The mind is then looped to negate the feedback, no matter how realistic or unrealistic the opinion would be. While I strongly believe the fact of ‘to each it’s own perspective’, it is useful to train our minds to think of ways to troubleshoot and meet the expectations (professionally) instead of creating a defence and wasting time over unproductive thoughts, remaining stagnant to where you would anyways be!

I still keep with me a pocket-sized book by Peter Drucker (“Managing Oneself”). At base it’s about establishing your own internal feedback loops to manage and analyze your own performance. The same practice involving those you work with, around, and for can be even more valuable as it tends to challenge your own truths and biases; through which one can refine the internal loops…. And so on… leading to real and often accelerated personal and professional growth.

When it happens to me, I seek feedback to flip assumptions and challenging norms. I treat feedback as raw material for new ideas. I ask: What if the opposite is true? It usually spark unexpected connections. Productive critiques also help me break traditional patterns, turning blocks into stepping stones for innovation. Feedback becomes an ongoing tool for fresh perspectives. Just make sure you trust your feedback sources, and find them credible :) However, sometimes sharing the challenge in the odd places can bring unexpected solution. I
