I couldn't agree with this more. Many people jump immediately into looking for funding without being thoughtful about strategy. Asking the right questions and "thinking" before you "ink" with increase your competitiveness and align your grant seeking strategy with your organizations strategy.

Find connections and narratives that link and allow collaboration across teams and/or initiatives. In my experience, these approaches aren't silos and too often we fail to pattern and plan match across our work. It also levels up skills across the staff to understand and contribute to varied strategies.
