These factors help determine the risk score of each test. Tests should be prioritized based on their risk score, with high-risk tests executed first, followed by medium and low-risk tests. This approach minimizes potential damage and ensures the quality of your product. By conducting risk assessment, you can confidently prioritize tests and optimize your testing process.

It is important for you to start your planning with a solid understanding of the ecosystem under test - its fault lines, what is important to stakeholders, what is acceptable to be minimally tested and what would cause the most damage should a defect remain undetected and manifest in production A few key metrics here is derived by a risk-prority matrix * The features that could have the highest business impact of failure are ranked in importance of priority * The perceived risk of such a failure is quantified and represented in order of decreasing priority * The interplay of the above will represent the must test - High Risk, High priority list * It is also important to understand the composition of the medium and low risk factors

First identify key functionalities and assess their potential impact and likelihood of failure using a risk matrix. Prioritize testing efforts on high impact-high likelihood areas. Utilize historical data to inform your assessment and involve the whole team to gather diverse insights. Document and share the findings, dynamically adjusting priorities based on new information. Regularly review and update the risk assessment to ensure continuous alignment and focus on the most critical areas.

Achieveing comprehensive test coverage through prioritisation should be a collective excercise where Test Team, Business analysts, Product owners and business Stake Holders engage in a conversation to: 1. Identify the high-risk areas of the solution that has higher business/customer/revenue impact 2. Use historical data to perform risk analysis through a risk assessment criteria and create risk profiles. 3. Agree the risk tolerence with all parties and stakeholders. 4. Create a traceability of risk profiles to the test cases. 5. Prioritize tests based on potential business impact and risk profiles. 6. Document the risk-based testing decisions and rationale for regular review and future revisions.

Prioritization is very important. At first fo the PCO of the product/features. Then we can have the estimation to test all the features. Then we can prioritise which features are teally important to the client and which features are mosty used. Remember 80/20 principle. Have some SBT and exploratory testing.

Here are a few steps I’ve successfully used in past projects to get better results : - Before starting automation, have a workshop or detailed discussions with all relevant parties to identify the most important test cases that cover key functions and critical business areas. - Start automating tests from the early stages of development and gradually build a strong automated test suite. - Write modular and reusable test scripts and use data-driven testing to quickly put together comprehensive test scenarios. - Implement automated smoke and sanity tests to quickly check the most crucial functions and all essential tests of the application.

Automation can quickly cover a broad range of tests, freeing up resources for manual testing of high-priority areas. Select Suitable Test Cases for Automation: Identify stable test cases that are candidates for automation. Focus on tests that provide the greatest return on investment, such as those that are run frequently or require extensive data input.

Integrate Testing into Agile Sprints: Incorporate testing into every sprint cycle to ensure continuous quality assurance. Use agile methodologies to iteratively test and release software, allowing for faster feedback and adjustments. Adapt to Changes Quickly: Be prepared to adjust testing priorities as new information or changes emerge. Include Product Manager in the decision process. It is a collective decision among the development team and Product Manager.

You can discuss the findings while testing a feature to stakeholders.. So your stakeholders and you are on the same page.. Also working closer with developers will help you to understand latest changes and part where it can be effect... also making known bugs report will also help to inform the current status of project to stakeholders
