I maintain high standards by prioritizing and managing my workload efficiently. I categorize tasks by urgency and importance, break down complex ones into manageable chunks, and set realistic deadlines. Eliminating distractions, minimizing multitasking, and delegating tasks when possible help me stay focused. Regular progress reviews ensure I'm on track, and open communication with stakeholders keeps everyone informed.

If you inherit the tasks, I recommend you sit down with your team leader and lay out everything that's on your plate. I admired team members who would come to me showing me their current workload, including priority, urgency and deadlines. The key phrase to say is, "I'm happy to pick up these tasks. Here is my current workload. What projects would you push back or remove so I can focus on this?" This discussion creates alignment around what is truly the priority of the department and clarity around where you should focus first. Try not to fall into the trap of staying up late to get it all done. When we are sleep-deprived, the work takes longer and the quality suffers.

Firstly, create a list of all tasks and order them by priority/deadline. Secondly, further break tasks down into smaller attainable deliverables and then work through those from the top down. I've found that this helps maintain quality while prioritizing what's most pressing and it also allows for a more agile way of working while maintaining structure
