There are many factors that impact the culture of an organization and one of those many is also a change of CEO. In my experience I saw this happen in a start up I worked with. When the CEO who had built the start up team moved out and a new CEO took over , who was also younger, There was a shift in how we executed our goals, younger CEO had zero tolerance for non performers and rule breakers, he had great branding strategies but miles to go on empathy, the former was humane but also tolerated non performers and rule breakers. While the culture felt more inclusive with the former, it felt fearful but more transparent with the later. The tone set by the CEO is a great factor in building the culture of the company.
