In New Product Development, Maximum time should be spent during conceptualization of the product. How will that market look like 3-5 years from now. VOC should be very deliberate and sample size should high. Pressing questions like 1) What will you love to have which you do not have today. 2) What you hate most in today's products available. Remember, Many of the users might not be knowing what more they want from the product but we need only few users alone to spell for that differentiated feature which tomorrow many would be loving it. Once we have our future product definition rest is just time and manpower. Make sure you make that concept a selling reality as quickly as you can.

Knowing the process is critical it will ensure the discussion as we follow the standard product development process we know what must be done to deliver the required results.

When you are given a scenario during the interview, think as a user of the product. You need to be in the shoes of the user and then create the hypothesis about the product basis the scenario. Always cite the assumptions and reasoning for the assumptions. There can be cases where you may have to create multiple user personas. In that case, answer how each persona will react to the scenario.

Conduct a competitive analysis to identify key competitors and their offerings. Understand their strengths and weaknesses compared to the product you're applying to work on. This will help you position the product effectively and identify areas for improvement or differentiation.

Successful products are built with the user in mind. Research your target audience extensively – their needs, pain points, and preferences. During the interview, emphasize your user-centric approach and share examples of how you've validated features through user feedback and testing.
