While I am all about collaboration, starting up a company requires the company owners/founders to do the vision-setting. Waiting until after you have staff and a team is too late. By setting your vision early you can build a team of people who want to be part of that vision.

I would expect an executive in the gaming industry to understand their vision for building a strong team. If they don't I'd hope that they'd step aside so someone else can step up into that role because I guarantee one of their reports will have that vision and ability already. Knowing your vision is not enough however. Its important to be able to communicate it clearly, concisely, and get everyone else to believe in it so they can execute. All skills I'd expect from anybody at an executive level.

I look for curious people who want to have fun while making fun! Making content on ANY platform is incredibly difficult. People who are naturally curious identify potential problems/solutions faster. An authentically positive, joyful attitude will get a team/project through the darkest times.

Don’t be a jerk & lead by example. Be apart of the community you’re trying to build, maybe play the games you are representing so you know a little something about the games; the community and the people who play and work to build them. Lastly, be on the pedestal without looking down on people.

Yeah, hiring the right people is sort of a no brainer here. Don't hire the wrong people. That's absolutely not the best move. The reason for that is because those people are wrong, not right. You definitely want the right ones and not the wrong ones. If you hire the wrong people you've messed up to be honest.
