For the most part, the same ways you would in any other industry: -Learn and commit to the companies overall initiatives/goals - Establish open lines of communication with your boss in a manner that works for both of you. Highlight wins, figure out how to negate or diminish points of friction and tie the groups work to the above initiatives/goals - An obvious one, but get the work done! For gaming specifically, playing games within the company's space helps a ton. You're in mobile gaming? Play the top grossing games, the most downloaded, etc. There is a reason they've obtained those ranks!

I believe, We should strive to be clear and concise in all interactions, anticipate information needs, and seek help when needed. By prioritizing open communication and avoiding assumptions, we can navigate development complexities and create remarkable achievements together.

Don't try to be a hero or impress your coworkers. When you get hung up on something or don't exactly know how to approach a task, yes definitely try to find the answers yourself first, however also know when to ask for help. You will often impress yourself and be able to figure it out on your own! Gotta know when to draw the line though, time management is key. Being efficient with not only your time, but also others' time is important. Remember, if you are asking someone for help, you're now spending two (or more) people's time on your task, thus delaying their own tasks. So be organized and informed (as much as you can be) when approaching someone with questions so you can arrive at a higher quality solution quicker.

Something I learnt the hard way is to never assume and take for granted. Communicate as much and effectively as you can. If you are not 100% sure, ask and double-check. That can be related to a project but even more important about your performance. When was the last time you asked your manager, How am I doing?

Being able to explain why something is done is a lot better than just saying "It's the guide I found for the task" and shows expertise even if you still had to use a guide to do so, showing discernment skills also. Being able to back your actions with your expertise let's those that work with you understand your logic and also helps them analyze if the method you choose to complete a task is the best method or if there is room to refine and improve. Overall, it is best to not let any tool or code or method you use exist as a "Blackbox" to you but rather treat it as a learning opportunity to expand your expertise!

Honestly the best thing you can do is TAKE INITIATIVE ???? If you have the bandwidth and want to learn, TELL YOUR BOSS ABOUT IT!!! 9 times out of 10, if someone expresses the want to grow and improve their skills, those above them will take notice, which can severely help your chances at getting a good referral for future projects, or even potentially a promotion ?? Differentiate where you can, but no matter what - you have to be able to deliver & be counted on. Period.

Track Deadlines: Use a calendar to set personal deadlines before official ones, similar to how Apple plans product launches months in advance. Be Fair: Follow company rules on expenses, just like how Amazon ensures fair pricing for all customers. Deliver on Promises: If you commit to a task, complete it on time, like Nike delivering new sneaker releases as promised.

Be reliable, but don't be invisible. Every time I've been part of has had one or two people who hit every mark and more, do their work and go beyond it and get overlooked. Sometimes that's been me. I'm guessing sometimes that's been you. Build in assessment. If you're not having monthly or weekly check ins with your boss, then ask for one. Doesn't have to be a long meeting, five minutes will do it. But like others have said, good communication helps everyone. Also if you have direct reports, encourage them to do the same with you. Survival is a team sport. Make sure everyone's doing okay, and help people who aren't.

If you cannot make it, leave a message with your contact times that day. 2. HANDLE YOUR CONTRACTS WELL. Have a good overview of everything you sign, dates, renewal, and clauses. Always pay your bills on time and keep things simple. 3. Another essential way is to BE FAIR. Is there a policy on travel expenses? Apply it, always. Does an employee regularly try to take advantage of a system? Challenge them. There is no system to track fairness? Create it. 4. And the last an most important one: MAKE IT HAPPEN, every single time.

When you have your regular syncs with your manager discuss the new things you're learning along with any new responsibilities you would like to take on. Maybe you want to pick up physics programming so you can help with the bottleneck or maybe you're eager to learn about a different job on the team and want to shadow another member. When given these responsibilities make sure that you accomplish your goals but not at the expense of your primary duties.
