work life balance is much needed. No one can deny the importance of self care incl. spiritual, physical and mental health. Yes, it happens sometimes that I have to suffer from consecutive challenging cases, due to which my work routine causes psychological discomfort. But I always take care of my work schedules and try to deal just those number of cases which are manageable in time. I never compromise on my health, I always check-in that I am perfectly fine or not to bear case loads. Whenever I feel , my self-care routine is going to be compromised I immediately start to take care of myself by following time tables, setting boundaries, gym routines, nutritious diet, practicing mindfulness or deep breathing exercises, and do catharsis.

Never bring office work to home. Never carry home stress to office. Never discuss office stress ar home. Always plan for a weekend with friends and family. Leave a weekend without plan and just do something extempore with your loved ones/preferred people/self. It could just be a spa in an exotic place to watching movies with popcorn.

When you have to deal with back to back challenging cases in healthcare, it is not only stimulating if you love the work but it can be mentally, physically and emotionally exhausting too depending on your domain. Couple of things one can do to ensure proper selfcare: ?Stay hydrated ?Ditch the excess use of stimulants like energy drinks or caffiene to stay focused ?Get adequate sleep. ?Eat wholesome meals and dont skip any. ?Breath work and stretches are a game changer. ? Set clear boundaries ?Be aware of your limits Most important remember: You cannot pour from an empty cup. Neither are you useful with very little to offer.

Self care is extremely important to my line of work. Sometimes you lose clients which can be devastating. I definitely set boundaries and I always take time to relax and do something I enjoy doing, at least 2 times a month.

By implementing clear, structured processes for each case—such as setting up an organized action plan, delegating tasks where possible, and using tools for tracking progress—ensures that work flows smoothly. A well-thought-out action plan can help one stay on top of priorities and deadlines while reducing the mental load that disorganization brings. Creating a system that isn’t dependent on any one person, is also critical to sustaining productivity without added stress. This is the best self-care gift-Organization.
