In my experience, data engineers should keep several aspects in mind when working with their DevOps team. A few really important ones would be: - the volume of data: helps DevOps understand sizes for databases, costs - security of data: encryption, obfuscation - quality of data: massaged data make automations more optimised, easier to maintain, lower costs - cost - automation: which part of the data process must be automated - visualisation: if DevOps are required to create infrastructure and/or automate the visualisation of data, it would be beneficial to have a clear understanding of what needs to be visualised and what details should be included - monitoring: what resources need to be monitored, what metrics are required - TRANSPARENCY

If I am working as a data engineer then i will definitely understand about how DevOps principels are working and will take reference of DevOps practices like Continuing integration pipeline in my data environment. I will use the DevOps methodology for our DataOps things so that we can deliver out data analytics smoothly and in efficient way.

If using a serverless architecture consisting of various functions as a service to integrate data from one location to another, version control via Azure devops or GitHub should be done on the functions to make change implementation, debugging and restoration to prev. versions easier and traceable. Using CICD processes on top of this would ensure easy release as well

I think the most important difference shows up in how the position's responsibilities fall within the product development lifecycle: a data engineer is more on the development side and few on the testing side, while a devops is more on the monitoring with deployment and maintenance side. depending of business madurity both responsibilities are in one position or separate it: depend the business how structure their organization.

As a Data engineer, I will learn from DevOps team that how can i optimise my data files and which file format can be suitable for processing data efficiently. What will the best practice to import and export data from services, need to identify important aspects like what type of data needs to process, frequency of data processing, idle time for data processing so that it should not affect live environment and also need ro identify best tools for processing the data sets.
