Please do your best to excel in customer service and then towards the end of the internship, ask your manager how to apply to the company and tell them your intentions. Customer service is usually easier to break into than other fields. Make it known that you want to work at the company you intern for.

In addition to exceeding expectations, I believe that consistently meeting expectations could also lead to a full-time position. The reason for this is that consistency gives your supervisor the impression that you understand your roles well and can deliver them with minimal supervision.

To secure a full-time position, I would first find out what are the key performance indicators for the role. Once I have this information I would understand the expectations of management. Another way to go above expectations will be to always provide, friendly, reliable, and efficient service. That one unexpected customer interaction can be the one that may provide a stellar review to upper management. Stay Active! Stay positive! Stay Efficient!

Be an asset for your firm. Be proactive with your efforts in the presence of a problem. Find ways to put a foot forward with a potential solution and work with the people around you for an optimal path. If you are not proactive, just completing assigned work, you are not maximizing the value you could be giving to the firm.
