I'm used to monitoring young people (ages 8-17) and I would play theatrical games, have them run lines, or run blocking with them to occupy their time and make sure they don't get bored. I've also had them study the actions of the tech team in order to train them on the behind-the-scenes antics of theatre. Hope this helps.

I break down complex information to ensure clarity and understanding. I don't expect perfection and focus more on embodying the subject, adopting a collective and democratic teaching approach. If the group does not progress collectively, I can't proceed with developing the chapter or task at that moment. I ensure that everyone is on the same page, not in terms of doing things correctly, but in understanding what they are doing and attempting it with this understanding. I encourage them to work with whatever they got, but to truly embody it. This approach fosters the best kind of learning because everyone becomes aware of their own transformation. The evolution takes place within their bodies, it is a physical understanding.

Positive reinforcement is crucial for maintaining high morale in theatre productions (& life!!!) A simple ‘thank you’ or public acknowledgment goes a long way in making team members feel appreciated. When people are recognised for their hard work, they’re more likely to stay motivated and put in their best effort. This positive attitude can be contagious, uplifting the entire crew and fostering a supportive, collaborative environment. It encourages innovation, increases productivity, and reduces stress. In theatre, we’re only as strong as our weakest link. By consistently celebrating achievements, we strengthen every part of the production, creating a resilient and high-performing ensemble!
