SYSTEM. build a system using the resources of the company combined with the set of skills and strengths of your team. BEING A LEADER IS LIKE A PLAYER IN CHESS. The Chessboard is your community. Divide and Rule, Understand your strength and hire according to your weakness. Distribute the task and lead by the team. Communicate your targets and goals and stick to it while ensuring your team works in sync but not in pressure. Allow your team to have their freedom and also ensure they own their jobs.

Every year, survey the entire team to establish what is or isn’t working by allowing everyone a voice and build the future based on feedback 3. Build the yearly goal in consultation with the leadership team and allow them to then create their own set of department goals to support the corporate vision. In consultation with their team. Establishing a collaborate operating environment. 4. Reward and recognise a job well done. Every week and every month create celebrations of achievement.

As in building out any team there needs to be strong communication as well as expectations and guidance of how each team member works and interacts. Not all team members work the same and it’s important to find balance in providing a framework that works for you and others while ensuring they maintain their own independence on how they prefer to work and communicate. Emphasizing the importance of learning a market is valuable out the gate.
