Not only maintaining it and closing them timely but share it with project team and obtain feedback from the team from time-to-time. Team has the power to prevent the risks and contribute to the success of the project.

In fact, in recent times I remember organizations preferring to cut down on features to maintain quality. Therefore make sure you test the software continuously.
