1 Understand the strategy

2 Define the value proposition

The next step is to define the value proposition of your work, which is the benefit that you provide to your customers, users, and other stakeholders. You need to identify who your customers are, what their needs and expectations are, how you solve their problems or satisfy their desires, and how you differentiate yourself from the competitors. You can use tools such as customer journey maps, personas, value proposition canvas, or lean canvas to help you create and validate your value proposition.

3 Design the business architecture

The third step is to design the business architecture, which is the blueprint of your organization's capabilities, processes, and systems. You need to align the business architecture with the strategy and the value proposition, and ensure that it supports the delivery of value to your customers and stakeholders. You can use tools such as business model canvas, capability map, value stream map, or business process model and notation (BPMN) to help you design and document your business architecture.

4 Communicate and collaborate

The fourth step is to communicate and collaborate with your stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure that your work is understood, supported, and implemented. You need to establish clear and consistent communication channels, methods, and formats, and use them to share your vision, goals, plans, and progress. You also need to seek feedback, input, and validation from your stakeholders, and involve them in co-creating and co-delivering solutions. 5 Measure and improve

The fifth step is to measure and improve your work, by monitoring and evaluating the performance, outcomes, and impacts of your business architecture. You need to define and track relevant metrics and indicators, and use them to assess how well your work aligns with the strategy and the value proposition, and how much value it delivers to your customers and stakeholders. You also need to identify and implement opportunities for improvement, innovation, and learning. You can use tools such as key performance indicators (KPIs), balanced scorecard, or lean six sigma to help you measure and improve your work.
