I would argue the best way to do this besides checking encryption is to also through documentation of your processes. You never know when you could face a lay off or something happens to you. Leave through notes so someone can best pick up your work and better understand what is going on. And also develop a consistent practice for your entire team.

When I've analyzed workforce data for planning, keeping things secure and confidential is a top priority. Making sure only the people who absolutely need the info have access. Think "need to know" basis here. If you have double or triple authentication checks, consider using them. This is about information safety and ensuring the employee privacy is at the top of your priority list. To keep things confidential, share only the data needed for the specific planning task. Don't share raw data with all the personal details if you can avoid it. With very sensitive projects, consider a NDA (non-disclosure agreement). Above all - make sure the data is protected.
