To keep a timeless approach, I focus on the essentials: classics, simplicity, and quality. Instead of following every new trend, I choose elements that always work and avoid excess. I think about what will still make sense 10 years from now. I also pay attention to what suits my personal style, rather than trying to fit something in just because it's trendy.
-
Consider- I would consider the vendor's suggestions, see the material and assess if it compliments the design and my client's vision. Keeping updated with new material additions in the market also helps me offer better designs to my clients. Assess- Being the Lead Designer on the project I take material selections with utmost seriousness, personally ensuring the client's vision approved via the 3Ds for the space is what is executed on-site. Reject- If the material does not work well for the designs planned for the project, I would politely but firmly decline the vendor's proposal.
-
> Emphasize timeless elements like clean lines, neutral color palettes, and natural materials that stand the test of time. > Clearly communicate your design vision, highlighting the importance of durability and longevity over fleeting trends. > If a trendy material is essential, explore classic interpretations or high-quality versions that align with your timeless aesthetic.
-
Provide and be clear on the job brief to vendors. Trendy materials do not always blend well in timeless design. But, always educate them to learn to meet your expectations.
-
I always keep my self updated with the material and style and use them according to the need and durability and how it will look after few years. I give the sustainable solution to my client. So educating them, telling the need with the time and technology. Design should never driven by the trends every time.
