A story about another similarly smart mixed race child who should/ could do as well as VP Harris would be one hook. Everything has a hook. You just gotta dig for it.

For me it is of utmost importance to have credible trusted sources. A personal ethics and values mission is to be as fair and forthcoming as you can. I always. Always put myself in the place of the story subject and try to be sure story is balanced with pros and cons. Of course that’s not always possible, particularly if you’re writing about a crime/ criminal - it’s not like you can say, “ he committed a brutal murder but he was abused as a child.” That’s for the defense lawyer to claim. The reporter is just that. She/ he reports.
