You need to make sure that the experiences you highlighted are those that are able to showcase your skills and capabilities in this role that you're applying for. This is to show that you are the suitable one for this job. You need to also make sure that you highlight all of the achievements you received from your previous experiences. This is to show that you are a good employee.

Quantifiable results catch attention and give clarity to your impact. One thing I have found profound in the resume writing process is to concise the content with action and impact. This will enhance the readability of the resume. While mentioning your core experience try to limit the JDs to 2-4 lines only with proper action words and action-impact strategy. In case of non relevant experience, use only significant ones and don't go into its depth just make relevance in 1-2 points only. The most significant features of the resume are readability and relevance against applied jobs. So only important points must be mentioned in the resume.

One suggestion is to condense your work and relevant experiences into time frames. This will allow you the space to note the most important items that are related to the position you are applying for while to highlighting and retaining earlier experiences that may support your application materials. An example would be noted trainings and presentations as selected with a time frame so you do not have to list every activity and yet include those relative to the position you are seeking.

To trim the resume without affecting its impact we have to consider the most relevant experiences for the job. For example if a man is going to apply as a finance manager then we should consider all the things relevant to finance and accounting. If his resume has any irrelevant experiences we can remove it. But the most important thing is that we should also consider the employment gap if it comes by removing the irrelevant experiences. In this case we can just mention the heading for the irrelevant job and nothing. In this way we can write the most concise, targeted and impactful resume.
