Do not take the word of only one person you speak with as gospel. I was hired by a guy who, a month earlier, told me NO ONE would hire me. That was the springboard to a 30-year career! Do not refer to people who refer you to others, or the others you are referred to, as leads or contacts. It dehumanizes what is a relationship process. Never give up!
