Effective communication includes generational awareness. How we communicated twenty years ago may not resonate with people today. Like it or not, we must be adept at digital communication and learn how to effectively use email, texting and even social media. Active listening is very important but so is actively responding. Prompt, timely communication will help ensure the person you are communicating with knows you are invested in them.

One thing I’ve found very helpful is using newer learning platforms that resonate with people. Presentations are no longer just power point ( although that has improved) newer platforms are very creative and can be fun and interactive. I use Kahoot many times to engage and capture some feedback on learning objectives!!!
