Most issues whether technical or not allow an opportunity to adapt and get creative. Communication should be one of the first things we should consider doing any malfunction. We need to gather pertinent data and allow everyone to get on the same page. The main person in charge of communication should have his own thoughts and directions clear before reaching out to others. We should be encouraged to pay attention & to use this as an opportunity to come out on top. In order to achieve the best solution, communicate what needs to be done & how it needs to be done in a clear understanding manner. Once everyone is on the same page to follow up in case there are more adjustments that need to be made. Use this time to be thankful to your staff.

Communicate with participants, informing them of the breakdown and the estimated time it will take to resolve the problem. I'm used to being transparent about what's going on and the steps I'll take to resolve the situation. In addition, if the software is crucial to the session, I switch to an alternative activity while waiting for the problem to be resolved. This could be a small-group exercise, a class discussion or a debate related to the training topic.

I immediately contact technical support to report the problem and get help. You have to make sure you keep up with updates and communicate all relevant information to your participants.
