I have personally faced this in my career with my B2B software sales team. As a manager, I encourage dialogue in such situations, separate opinions from facts, make use of customer insights from my own personal experiences and pilot the various interpretations if possible. It helps if you have work experience in the subject. The manager is liable to be swayed towards his personal biases if he lacks experience in the matter.

I have experienced several times this problem, and these are 3 steps I follow: 1. Active Listening: try to undestand the root of the problem or the reason that make different people to have diverse ideas. 2. Look for similar ideas: gathering the coincidences will make the different opinions take place, this will make easy to negotiate a solution for this difficult issues. 3. Set realistic goals: once everyone undestand the problem and have an agreement, base your KPIs and use metrics that contribute to growth revenue, achievable milestones and valuable historical data based on financial and business data analytics that are well founded on scientific knowledge.
