We must personalize our approach towards individuals, knowing the cause of disengagement is the key here, some time people may be having some other issues with family/friends/relationships etc going on which they may not be able to cop up leading to disengagement. We must support them to come out of the situation by giving them time and clear goals which are definite. Encouraging them about their past performance and good work as well will add to their motivation. We should also see how we can indirectly support them with some team activity of their interest to make them feel better about company and team. Touching base with employee regularly does the trick as well to keep them engaged.
