Navigating through the chaos of a technology upgrade begins with clear communication and a structured plan. Start by breaking down the upgrade into manageable phases, ensuring that the team knows what to expect at each stage. Provide proper training and resources to minimize confusion and help everyone adapt smoothly. Encourage team members to voice their concerns or challenges, addressing them proactively to reduce frustration. Focus on maintaining workflow by prioritizing essential tasks and creating contingency plans for any disruptions.

When this happens, it's important to reflect on the initial process, which should always be people-driven and cultural before being technological. In this situation, it's crucial to establish clear, empathetic, and constant communication spaces where we understand fears and manage them by highlighting the benefits. Reinforce training elements that help understand these new technologies, and set achievable milestones and deadlines where the team feels involved and that are realistic.

Based on how I helped drive software adoption during my early career, here’s what worked best for me: 1. Define who a champion of the new technology would be inside your team — someone motivated to be the 1st to adopt it and support the team. 2. Train the champion to support the team. 3. Train the team with the support of the champion. 4. Exactly define where the disruption is coming from. Ask your users: what is disrupting your end-user’s workflow? 5. Brainstorm how to turn things around with the champion and support the team. 6. Put the technology provider at work to adapt to your workflow. 7. Open support channels between the provider and the end-users. Make end-users feel supported. Step 0 is to communicate this plan to the team.

Hay que volver al motivo que hizo que este update tuviera sentido para el negocio y para los equipos. Si el racional y el beneficio es claro para todos, de ahí en adelante todo es más fácil.
